In 2007, I got back in touch with some old friends and we formed the “LS&DD” band, a tribute to David Bowie and his eclectic repertoire. Me, as the leading vocalist, Angelo Caselli, keyboards, Fabrizio Nicastro, bass, Fabrizio Regoli, guitar, Carlo Senzacqua drums.

 

We poured effort and fantasy in our shows and the public greeted them warmly. But we were well aware that we were offering an illusion, that people came for Bowie's music,  that we shared the applauses with his myth.

This adventure lasted until 2011.

 

Angelo Caselli and I are still on stage with an unplugged Bowie, intimate and emotional. Together we can offer rare pieces like:

“The laughing Gnome”.

 

In 2009, my schedule already full of engagements with “LS&DD”, I accepted to help another Bowie tribute band, doomed to dissolve by the sudden leaving of its singer and It was a success! but in 2011 its former singer return back and I was abruptly dismissed...very rudely...by phone. Not my style!

I mentioned this episode only because I later learned that, although it was their salvation and, by general consensus, "I made the difference", they never accepted a woman impersonate Bowie, except to take advantage of it as long as they needed it.

Anyway, aside from these insignificant people, following my dreams I met many bias, prejudiced people, but my performances on stage always succeeded in changing their mind. Well, sure is a tough job to be... a Lady Stardust
